Antalya is one of the largest cities in Turkey. This city is known as a tourist attraction. Little does anyone know that the Antalya is a region with its capital being also called Antalya. One of the main attractions in the “center of Antalya” is an Aquarium in Antalya“. It is located in Konyaalti area of Antalya. Konyaalti in itself is a huge area that contains, Liman, Hurma, Beach Park. Therefore the Antalya Aquarium can be considered as being based more on the beach side of Konyaalti area rather than general reference to the area.
What is around Antalya Aquarium?
At the first site, the complex looks fairly amazing and within its vicinity and walking distance you can easily end up at the 5M Migros (shopping mall). Across from the building is a fairly new area called the beach park which hosts a number of restaurants and cafes. On the other side of the building we can find the Ataturk Attraction Park which has a number of styled themes but only for smaller kids.
The main entrance to the Aquarium is not easy to find
Upon Arrival at the Aquarium Museum, you will confused of where to go as the people are absolutely everywhere. There are no clear signs how to get to main the door and upon several discussions and asking the questions we have managed to get inside. By the main gate you will see and be greeted by an English speaker asking what you would want to do and when you state that you are a holder of Ikamet, they will send you upstairs to purchase the ticket.
The costs to enter at the Antalya Aquarium is ridiculous
The tickets and the costs at the time, when we came to the Antalya Aquarium at the beginning of March 2022, the prices for foreigners were calculated at $80 per adult and $20 per child for a packaged deal. For the ikamet holders the whole deal for the family of 4 has costed us $80 (2 adults, 2 kids). This is an absolute crazy pricing but if you do want to spend whole day at one place entertaining kids, I guess you would need to pay for it. Ofcourse, travelling across the world and seeing various attractions is just an expectation by the tourists but the variation in prices to this extreme I have not yet seen anywhere else in the world.
What does the mega deal package to the Antalya Aquarium contains?
The package deal that I have mentioned above has consisted of 5 different themes. The first and foremost is the entry to the Antalya Aquarium. The entry to the Snow World in Antalya. The entry to the wild park Antalya. The entry to the 5d cinema in Antalya. Lastly is the entry to the wax museum in Antalya. The interesting part of the wax museum is that after seeing the presentation by Madame Tussaud, the wax museum Antalya is rather poorly created and presented. However, for the locals that may not have had anything to compare with, would definitely be a great place to hang around.
My family is looking for the Ticketing kiosk at the Aquarium in Antalya
Reflection, when it comes to pricing as a foreigner coming to the Aquarium in Antalya would not be worth a penny as it is super not friendly, however, if you have managed to obtain local ikamet then it is worth spending it “big” on a mega deal and spending whole day at the place as it has a lot of things to cover for any interests. If you have travelled around the world, lower your expectations as it is definitely not to the level of other places that you would have seen it before.
